Following the Jacksonville Jaguars’ decision to release Keilan Robinson, what does the team’s running back roster now look like?
Robinson was a fifth-round draft pick in 2024 by the Jaguars out of Texas. He ended up appearing in only three games as a rookie on offense, totaling five snaps with no carries during that span. Robinson would also appear in six games on special teams, where he totaled 50 snaps, including two punt return attempts.
There are often going to be several factors that go into any roster decision, but as we detailed, perhaps the catalyst behind this move was that Robinson found himself near the bottom of what had become a crowded running back depth chart.
In addition to Travis Etienne and Tank Bigsby returning for the 2025 season, GM James Gladstone also drafted Bhayshul Tuten and LeQuint Allen. So Robinson quickly became the fifth option at a position where most teams roster just three running backs.
“I think altogether, that room, that running back room, has done a nice job in terms of the competition, the acceleration, and the teaching for some of those young guys, and also the veterans doing a nice job of trying to help those guys out as well,” Liam Coen said recently during OTAs.
