Miami baseball is one step away from its first trip to the College World Series since 2016. And its opponent in the Super Regionals isn’t as daunting as expected.
The Hurricanes were one of seven unseeded teams to advance to the 16-team Super Regional round. They bounced back from a 17-6 shellacking to No. 16 Southern Miss to win the winner-take-all game Monday night 5-4 and take the Hattiesburg Regional.
While UM’s upset was surprising, that’s nothing compared to Louisville advancing out of the regional hosted by No. 1 overall seed Vanderbilt. The Cardinals knocked the hosts out of the winners’ bracket before beating Wright State 6-0 to earn the right to host this weekend’s Super Regional.
Miami and Louisville now clash in a best-of-three series to decide who moves on to Omaha and the College World Series. Seven other such series will take place across the country this weekend to fill out the eight-team national championship tournament.

Miami baseball schedule in Louisville Super Regional
Miami plays in the Louisville Super Regional starting Friday, June 6. Game 1 will be broadcast on ESPN2, while Game 2 will be shown on ESPN. All games will stream on ESPN+ and Fubo, which offers a free trial for new subscribers.
