USA TODAY’s Florida Network released the first version of the Top 100, and in-state schools already hold plenty of commitments from the top players in the class of 2026.
Miami holds seven commitments from Sunshine State players for now, and four appear in the top-40 first edition of the rankings. The Hurricanes claim more top-15 commits (two) than another other in-state program headed into the spring.
For comparison, Florida State leads all in-state powers with seven commitments inside the Top 100, while Florida’s lone in-state pledge (Will Griffin) is in the top-50.
Here are all the Miami commits that made the Top 100, in order of ranking:
Jordan Campbell, Miami Northwestern
USA TODAY Florida Network Rank: No. 12
Position: Linebacker (No. 2 LB in the state)
Height, weight: 6 feet 2, 200 pounds
Campbell’s hometown Hurricanes were early on him, and he’s been committed to Mario Cristobal and company since November of 2023. He stuffed the stat sheet with 70 total tackles, 28.0 TFL, six sacks, 15 QB hurries, two forced fumbles, and four PBUs at Carol City. He is the latest addition to a loaded Miami Northwestern defense led by Teddy Bridgewater. Campbell says he is locked in with the Canes, and has no other official visits scheduled.
Dereon Coleman, Jones
USA TODAY Florida Network Rank: No. 13
Position: Quarterback (No. 2 QB in the state)
Height, weight: 6-1, 170 pounds
Jones has done nothing but impress this offseason, culminating in an invite to the coveted Elite 11 Finals after showing out at the Tampa regional. Miami is excited to bring in the signal caller that threw for 3,412 yards, 28 touchdowns, and just 4 interceptions last year (also rushed for 455 yards and four scores on 74 carries). He’s been committed since July of 2024 and his only scheduled official visit is to Coral Gables this summer.
Jaelen Waters, Armwood
USA TODAY Florida Network Rank: No. 18
Position: Cornerback (No. 3 CB in the state)
Height, weight: 6-1, 170 pounds
Water’s recruitment was a hectic one. He decommitted from Florida after defensive backs coach Will Harris left for Miami, and scheduled official visits to Auburn, Florida, and Miami after decommitting in February. He named the Hurricanes just under a month later before cancelling all other scheduled official visits. Waters reeled in two picks and broke up three passes for Armwood last year.
Javian Mallory, West Boca
USA TODAY Florida Network Rank: No. 36
Position: Running Back (No. 2 RB in the state)
Height, weight: 6-½, 205 pounds
Mallory, who averaged over 10 yards per carry, played in just seven of West Boca’s 15 games last year after injuring his leg, but his blend of explosiveness and power made him a priority for Miami along with Michigan and Florida. He announced being “100% locked in” after committing in March.
