A Lake Wales man died the morning of May 14 following a crash near Lake Alfred, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.
A tractor-trailer traveling west on Old Polk City Road stopped for other traffic east of County Road 557 when a Ford F150 truck failed to stop and collided with the rear of the tractor-trailer, FHP reported.
The driver of the truck, a 61-year-old man, suffered fatal injuries, FHP said. The driver of the tractor-trailer, a 38-year-old Avon Park man, was not injured. Following its practice, FHP did not release the name of the driver who died.
