Riverfest returns to Jonesville this weekend. Everything you need to know

JONESVILLE — Jonesville’s annual Riverfest returns to town this weekend, highlighting the city, businesses and nonprofits.

Last year saw the return of the famed river races, after a short hiatus largely caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Festivities officially kick-off Friday, May 16, with the annual Paddle to School, launching from the Moore Road Bridge at 6:30 a.m. and floating down to US-12 in Jonesville.

With new community partners like Ramshackle Brewing Company, the weekend’s festivities may see a comeback closer to the event’s traditional roots.

What’s new at Riverfest in 2025? 

Mill Race Golf Course will hold a golf scramble Friday, May 16, beginning at 5:30 p.m. with a $25 entry fee in a “skins-style game.” 

The Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Office will host a K-9 meet-and-greet at the library on Saturday, May 17, beginning at 10 a.m. 

U.S. Marine Corps veteran Greg Whalen will be playing at Ramshackle Brewing Company from 7-9 p.m. Saturday. Whalen was on the ground in Afghanistan for the withdrawal and has written music about his experiences overseas. 

What’s changing at Riverfest in 2025? 

The Jonesville Rotary Club’s Classic Car Show, held on Saturday, May 17, will move from Water Street to the Jonesville Middle School, freeing up Water Street north of US-12.

Grider Mechanical, located kitty-corner to the intersection of US-12 and M-99, will host a cornhole tournament beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday.

What’s returning to Riverfest in 2025?

The historic Grosvenor House Museum will host tours and a living history event from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, May 17. 

The River Float returns at 10 a.m. Saturday with kayaks or canoes dropping at 10 a.m. at Red Bridge.

The annual Riverfest Pageant begins at 6 p.m. Saturday in the auditorium at Jonesville High School. 

Sunday, May 18, will see a return of the Power’s Clothing Antique Tractor Show at Carl Fast Park.
