Bucs new playcaller has a strong, yet simple, message for rookies

Josh Grizzard is the Bucs’ third new play-caller in as many seasons, and the team keeps losing them.

Todd Bowles keeps losing his offensive coordinators to head coaching opportunities. Liam Coen was the latest to move on after taking the Jacksonville Jaguars job. Josh Grizzard was promoted in his place, and the team’s veterans were excited about the promotion.

Now, it seems that the rookies may be excited as well after the team shared a video of him addressing the unit on social media.

Grizzard kept things honest and simple for his rookies within his unit, saying, “You can play a long time in this league if you don’t make the same mistake twice. If you made a mistake today, it is what it is, just don’t make the same mistake tomorrow, we are adding a new install so that we can go attack the defense. We’re not just going to run the same s— for three days in a row. “

He went on to add more saying, “Stay in your books, overcommunicate, especially for the skill and quarterbacks, if you can help out the guy beside you, it’s really going to help out the whole operation, alright? Any questions, get with your with your coaches again. Stay hydrated, we’ve got two more days of this thing. We’ll go out there and attack these guys tomorrow.”
