Police said that several men had been arguing when one pulled out a handgun. A fight ensued over the gun, and the victim was shot, police said.

Police arrested Michael Gonzalez and John Salazar, both 17, on charges of murder because both were involved in the shooting, said senior officer Antonio Contreras. Contreras did not specify Gonzalez’s or Salazar’s role in the shooting.

Police took the two men to the City Detention Center for booking.

Detectives are investigating the shooting and encourage anyone with information to contact detectives at 361-886-2840. Information can be submitted anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers at 361-888-TIPS.
