Wisconsin comedian Charlie Berens gets the “W” for most on-brand response to the new pope being from Chicago.
In a joint Instagram post, Berens and his account for the “Manitowoc Minute” — his comedic news report series — shared a photo of Pope Leo XIV, the new leader of the Roman Catholic Church.
The headline above the pontiff read: “Chicago-born Robert Prevost becomes first-ever American Pope.”
Berens’ response? “God, please tell me he’s not a Bears fan…”

We cannot confirm nor deny that. So, prayers up, Packers fans.
But hey, at least we know he’s not a Cubs fan. A win is a win.
Berens — both in and out of his Midwest news character — is known to dish out his fair share of Bears hate (see below). Heck, his famous “Manitowoc Minute” sign-off is: “Go Packers and eff the Bears.”
