May is full of activities. Here are five events you might want to check out in the Peoria area this weekend.
Tenth Avenue North in concert
Contemporary Christian musicians Tenth Avenue North will take the stage at 7 p.m. Friday, May 10, at TempleLive Peoria at the Scottish Rite Theater, 400 NE Perry Ave. Tickets start at $36 and can be purchased at www.templelive.com.
More Than Pink Walk 2025
The 2025 Komen Peoria More Than Pink Walk will take place Saturday, May 10, at the Metro Centre, 4700 N. University St. The site will open at 6:30 a.m. and the opening ceremony will kick off the walk at 8 a.m. The event will help raise funds to increase awareness of and fight to end cancer. Worldwide Day of Play
The Peoria Park District will host the 12th annual PNC Worldwide Day of Play from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10, at Glen Oak Park. The family friendly, free event is dedicated to bringing children and their families together to learn, play and interact. Children will have the opportunity to meet costume characters, Daniel Tiger and Katerina Kittycat, and explore face painting, play carnival games, jump in bounce houses, run obstacle courses, visit the Discovery Barn, Touch-A-Truck and more.
Peoria Heights Fine Art Fair
The Peoria Heights Fine Art Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 10, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 11, at Tower Park, 4901 N. Prospect Road, Peoria Heights. The show is a juried event with a top prize of $1,000, and will include painting, textiles, metals, woodworking, pottery, glass, jewelry and mixed media. The event will also feature free kid’s activities, music and food vendors. Admission is free.
An evening of comedy with Nate Bargatze
Grammy nominated comedian, podcaster, director and producer Nate Bargatze will perform at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, May 10, at the Peoria Civic Center Arena. Tickets start at $39.75 and can be purchased at www.peoriaciviccenter.com.
