The hats will be sold at the theater’s box office, 137 Park St., from April 3 through May 25 for its production of “My Mother and the Michigan/Ohio War” while supplies last.
The comedy by Paul Stroili sees “a recently widowed wife and mother call on her Wolverine daughter and Buckeye son to realize her late husband’s vision of a full-scale reenactment of the Michigan-Ohio War,” according to a news release.
The collegiate hats are officially licensed. The U-M version is navy blue with a block “M” in classic maize within the Born In Detroit logo. The OSU hat has the university logo and a “Born in Ohio” trademark in white.
Part of the profits will go toward the theater, Daniels’ nonprofit known for its original productions.
Tickets to “My Mother and the Michigan/Ohio War” are on sale now at The Purple Rose Theatre Co. box office, online at purplerosetheatre.org or by calling 734-433-7673.
