The city of Sturgis has issued an update that restoring power to some customers may take longer than normal due to broken poles and downed trees and branches following Sunday’s storm.
City Manager Andrew Kuk said city electric crews are being assisted by crews from other communities to restore power to several hundred still without power.
“We thank you for your continued patience and understanding,” he said in a statement. “If you are experiencing a power outage that you have not yet reported, we ask you to please contact the outage line at (269) 659-7255. This helps us assess the scope of the work remaining.
“In addition, if you have recently moved or not yet provided us with updated contact information, please call City of Sturgis Customer Service at (269) 659-7254 to update that information. This allows us to accurately assess where damage is located when reported to the outage line.”
