Former Port Huron Mayor Pro tem, Cliff Schrader, and former City Council member, Ken Harris, discuss the recent City Council meeting where a new ordinance to allow chickens in the City failed. The vote was three “yea” and three “nay” with City Council member, Terry Lamb being absent.
The chicken ordinance was not the only important issue. One resident spoke about the lack of accountability and oversight of the Port Huron Police Department and another questioned the City Council’s vote against Mayor Anita Ashford’s appointment of Dr. Leslie Bender.
City Manager James Freed also discussed the proposed 2025-2026 Budget. The public hearing is scheduled for May 13, 2025.
