Spongy moth (formerly gypsy moth) caterpillars feed on a wide variety of trees and shrubs, and the defoliation they cause can lead to stress on both forests and people, which is why Friends of the St. Clair River and St. Clair County have partnered to put together the Spongy Moth Aerial Spray Program.
Join Friends field staff to learn more about the upcoming 2022 spray program and ask any questions you may have at a series of three workshops. Topics covered include the history of spongy moth, the distribution of the St. Clair County outbreak, and information on what is being sprayed.
Three educational workshops are planned around the county and will be recorded for those unable to attend.
Tues, April 5, 6:30 p.m. – St. Clair Township Hall, 1539 S Bartlett Rd, St. Clair Township
Wed, April 6, 6:00 p.m. – Clyde Township Hall, 3350 Vincent Rd, North Street
Thurs, April 14, 6:30 p.m. – Columbus Township Hall, 1732 Bauman Rd, Columbus
