In the last column, we talked about pedophilia. In this latest in the series, we will continue to wonder, “Are We Nuts?” By now, most have heard about the Netflix program that has a lot of people outraged and rightly so. It is not exactly what you would call a wholesome family show.
It takes place in Paris, France centered on girls who are around 11 years old. They decide to form a dance team for the purpose of entering a dance competition. That sounds all right, doesn’t it? Well, it isn’t. These girls are not doing ballroom dancing or even ballet. No, this is a disgusting performance where they are dressed in sexy outfits (if anything an 11-year-old could wear could be called sexy). They gyrate their hips and actually simulate sexual intercourse! They touch their crotches, place a finger in their mouths while sucking and sighing. 11 year-olds! The rest of the picture, I couldn’t tell you as I turned it off. However, I heard from a friend who watched more of it than I did (although she turned it off as well) and said the rest she saw was just as disgusting.
What is wrong with the parents of these children who would allow their girls, not much more than babies, to take part in this trash? What is worse is there are some out there who laugh at those of us who consider it as blatant disgusting exploitation of girls for someone’s sick fantasies. The people who take no offense to this trash say it is nothing more than culture changes. They point out that California has now passed a law reducing the criminal penalty for consensual anal and oral sex with minors 10 years younger. “Are we nuts?” These are children, people!
Women have been exploited sexually for years. If they so choose to be, that is their decision as an adult. However, children are not old enough or mature enough to make those kinds of decisions. They should be protected by the law, not have “open season” declared on them by a bunch of politicians who are out of touch with real America. And for any of you out there, who think people outraged by these disgusting exploitations of little girls are just witnessing culture changes and not any big deal, have only to check out the cancellations of Netflix subscriptions to rejoin the rest of us in the real world.
To do anything but protect the youth of this country could be devastating for the future. Do we want well-balanced adults in charge, or messed up people who don’t know the difference between right from wrong, and don’t care what is done to children? If you chose the latter, you have just answered the question, “Are We Nuts?”
