A chance of thunderstorms is in the forecast for the Appleton area during the Fourth of July, according to the National Weather Service Green Bay.
The Appleton area has a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms between 6 a.m. to noon July 4. The rest of the day is expected to be dry, with a small chance of showers popping up in the afternoon, said Kira Jesse, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service Green Bay.
What’s the temperature expected to be for the Fourth of July?
Temperatures for Independence Day could reach as high as 90 degrees, Jesse said. The evening is expected to be pretty dry, with temperatures to be in the 70s.
“The heat index, what it actually feels like outside, is going to be getting close to 94-95 degrees. We certainly recommend to exercise heat safety,” Jesse told the Appleton Post-Crescent. “Anyone outdoors should wear white clothing, sunscreen, (and) drink lots of water.”
