SHEBOYGAN – A wreath and pottery shop next to Arrosto Delicatessen will host a vendor pop-up this weekend.
Bartoli’s Wreath Shoppe & Pottery Crafts, 1426 N. 13th St., will join the Midwest Challenge powerboat racing, Sheboygan Farmers’ Market and Bookworm Gardens’ Fairyfolk Festival for a packed weekend of festivities.
The “Summer Party” vendor event will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 9. The shop will be open until 7 p.m.
Vendors include Cheesecakes by Megan; Yellow Leaf Candle Company; DarZeeDoats Designs; Ignite Permanent Jewelry; Arrosto Deli and the pottery shop. Goods include sandwiches, desserts, jewelry, candles, ceramics, and crocheted and knitted pieces.
As a self-starter herself, Julie Bartoli wants to help other businesses get more exposure. She’s spent a lot of the summer going to different events, like the 3 Sheeps Brewing Summer Night Market, to spread more awareness about her shop.
Bartoli opened her business in the red-roofed building several years ago, merging her desire to dabble in pottery with her family business’s lasting legacy of making wreaths. Her family used to own a greenhouse, produce and wreath shop in Campbellsport.
She said her parents were a “great influence” on her growing up, especially her mom, who also made ceramics. She remembers painting pieces with her.
“When I told her about the pottery business, she reschooled me on how she used the kiln and the glazes and (threw clay) on the wheel,” Bartoli said.
Bartoli’s shop has limited hours right now, but she plans to solely focus on the business when she retires from the U.S. Postal Service in about four-and-a-half years. Bartoli plans to offer more workshops in the fall and winter, too.
