This year's Light the Night Market brings back fan-favorite attraction

The Light the Night Market that takes over downtown Appleton every year is returning again, bringing back fan-favorite features, performers and attractions.

From 5 to 10 p.m. on May 15, the free, outdoor market event, hosted by Appleton Downtown Inc., will span College Avenue, between Superior and Durkee streets.

Aside from several shopping opportunities from local vendors and businesses, attendees can also expect live music performances, cultural dance performances, food trucks and activities for the whole family.

The Houdini Plaza Stage will feature performances from 5 to 5:30 p.m. from Mischief and Magic, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. by Brewster Street Brass Brand and from 8 to 10 p.m. by the Glam Band.

Performances and events happening throughout the market include a Cloud Nine fire show, the Barlow Mobile Planetarium, a live snake show, NEWCA Chinese Dragon and Lion dances, stilt walkers, a tropical-themed projection and light show and a meet-and-greet opportunity with the Fairy Godmother.

This year, the market is bringing back the fan-favorite Ferris Wheel alongside its usual Mischief & Magic face painting and balloon animals and other arts and crafts.

More than 90 food, craft and merchandise vendors will be in attendance.

Food vendors will include Crazy Sweet, Doughlicious, Tria Frog Treats and The Roaming Platter.

Other vendors attending will include Kolor Me Blue, Beauty from Ash Henna Tattos, Purrfect Evidence Studio, Obsidian’s Oddities and Five Penny Piece.
