Packers trade WR Dontayvion Wicks to the Philadelphia Eagles

GREEN BAY – The Green Bay Packers are losing another wide receiver this offseason.

The Packers are trading Dontayvion Wicks to the Philadelphia Eagles for a 2026 fifth-round pick at No. 153 overall and a 2027 sixth-round pick, sources tell PackersNews. Wicks reportedly will receive a one-year, $12.5 million extension.

The Packers pick up $2.6 million in salary cap space with Wicks’ departure and are almost $26 million under the cap. He counts for $75,637 in dead money. The Packers now have eight draft picks this year and should have 10 next year.

With the uncertain future for A.J. Brown, the Eagles are adding Wicks after he spent three seasons in Green Bay. The Packers also lost Romeo Doubs to the New England Patriots early in free agency.

Wicks will join familiar faces, as former Packers offensive assistant Sean Mannion is now the Eagles offensive coordinator and ex-receivers coach Ryan Mahaffey is the Eagles’ run-game coordinator/tight ends coach.

The 2023 fifth-round draft pick showed a lot of potential over his time in Green Bay but struggled to find consistency in a crowded receiver room as he battled injuries and drops.

Over 46 games, Wicks caught 108 passes for 1,328 yards and 11 touchdowns. His best game in Green Bay came this past season when he caught six passes for a career-high 94 yards and two touchdowns plus iced the game with a crucial fourth-down catch in the Packers’ 31-24 road win over the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving.

The Packers still have plenty of good options in the passing game. Christian Watson leads the way, and Jayden Reed will be a threat after dealing with injuries in 2025. It also provides a bigger role for 2025 draft pick Matthew Golden, while potentially giving more opportunities to second-year player Savion Williams.

Recently signed Skyy Moore, Bo Melton, Will Sheppard, Isaiah Neyor and Jakobie Keeney-James fill out the rest of the receiver room. The Packers will also receive a big boost when standout tight end Tucker Kraft returns from his ACL injury.
