One person is dead following a semi vs. farm tractor crash Oct. 5 in Clark County

MAYVILLE − A semi driver is dead following a two-vehicle crash Oct. 5 about 30 miles northwest of Marshfield.

At 7:58 p.m. Oct. 5, a 911 caller reported a crash on State 13, east of Draper Road in the Clark County town of Mayville, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

The initial investigation found that a farm tractor pulling a loaded wagon was going south on State 13, turning east on Draper Road, when a semi tractor-trailer that also was southbound hit the tractor with wagon from the back, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The driver of the semi died at the scene of the crash, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The tractor driver was taken to Aspirus Wausau Hospital with serious injuries.

The Central Fire and Ambulance Service, Taylor and Marathon County sheriff’s offices, Colby-Abbotsford Police Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Clark County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.

The crash block State 13 for several hours.
