One dead and one arrested following April 28 Taylor County shooting

LITTLE BLACK − One man is dead and one man was arrested after a caller reported an accidentally shooting Tuesday, April 28 in Taylor County.

At 8:49 p.m. April 28, a caller reported a man had been accidentally shot at a home in the 1300 block of Taylor County E in the town of Little Black, about 11 miles north of Abbotsford, according to the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they found an unresponsive man lying in the yard and began CPR. The man was later pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Following an investigation, officers arrested a man and booked him into the Taylor County Jail.

No other information was being released pending the completion of the investigation. The Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation, Taylor County Medical Examiner’s Office and Taylor County District Attorney’s Office is assisting the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office.
