TOWN OF SHEBOYGAN – Attendees at the LongHorn Steakhouse grand opening ceremony March 2 were part of a typical ribbon-cutting and photo opportunity, but they also participated in a steak-cutting and team chant, per the restaurant’s traditions for new locations.
Standing beneath the chain’s iconic Texas longhorn at the restaurant entrance, Dan Hein, chair of the town of Sheboygan, was first to take a bite of the 20-ounce Outlaw Steak, which was later cut up for other attendees to taste.
Two chants followed with restaurant staff, local dignitaries and business community members: “We are/LongHorn” and “Whose house?/Our house.”
Tricia West, new restaurant opening manager with LongHorn Steakhouse, said the chants signal to the community that LongHorn is “here, not just today, but that we’re absolutely to here stay.”
LongHorn opens after breaking ground in March 2025. It is the latest Darden Restaurants Group restaurant and development with Illinois-based S/Point Ventures to open in the town, following Olive Garden’s opening in early 2024.
“Me and the LongHorn family are very excited to be part of the town of Sheboygan — to bring our craveable seasonings, our fresh, never frozen steaks, chicken and fish, and fresh chopped salads,” Toni Norrick-Brazhnik, managing partner with LongHorn Steakhouse, said.
Hein said the restaurant has hired up to 80 employees.
“That’s another great addition to our workforce,” he said, adding LongHorn will also be a great addition to businesses along the State 42 corridor and near Interstate 43, the North Town development and the broader community.
Nearby restaurants include Culver’s, Texas Roadhouse, Shuffs and Dina’s Diner. Hardee’s closed earlier this year, but Hein said the town is working to replace the restaurant.
Hein presented Norrick-Brazhnik with a plaque thanking LongHorn for establishing a location in the town of Sheboygan and wishing the team success. The closest LongHorn locations to Sheboygan are in Green Bay and near Milwaukee.
He said the town is working with S/Point Ventures to develop the last parcel in that area. Developer Andy Stein said he didn’t have any details about future development at this time.
