OSHKOSH − A popular Oshkosh business has been lost to fire for the foreseeable future.
Players Pizza & Pub is closing its doors indefinitely after a late-night fire Aug. 12 ravaged the 556 W. Fifth Ave. restaurant.
No injuries were reported, and Players’ management posted on Facebook that everyone made it out of the building safely while confirming the business “will be closed for the time being.”
“Players has good insurance, we WILL REBUILD!,” management wrote in a separate statement.
The cause of the fire remains unknown as the Oshkosh Fire Department didn’t immediately release details of the blaze.
The Oshkosh Police Department initially put out a statement during the fire asking residents to avoid Ohio Street from Third to Ninth Avenue as the roads were barricaded while emergency crews were working on the scene.
