IndyCar at the Milwaukee Mile: What to know about Snap-On 250 tickets, schedule, TV, autographs and more

After a 13-year absence, Indy cars returned to the Milwaukee Mile with a doubleheader in 2024. Now, in the second year of what is believed to be a three-year contract, the NTT IndyCar Series will race a single 250-mile event Aug. 24 at the track on the grounds of Wisconsin State Fair Park in West Allis.

Here’s what to know about the 2025 Snap-On 250 weekend, from basics to schedule, tickets and broadcasts and other frequently asked questions.

What is the NTT IndyCar Series?

Open-wheel, open cockpit cars that race in the Indianapolis 500 have been run at other tracks around the country and internationally on large ovals such as the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, street courses in cities such as Detroit, road courses such as Elkhart Lake’s Road America and short ovals such as the Milwaukee Mile. Milwaukee is the 16th of 17 points-paying races.

The sport has had numerous governing bodies over the years. IndyCar is the latest. The NTT IndyCar series raced at the Mile 11 times from 2004-2015.

In short, what is the history of the Milwaukee Mile?

Originally a private horse track, the oval on the grounds of State Fair Park held its first motor race in 1903, eight years before the first Indianapolis 500.

Since then it has hosted hundreds of national level races for open-wheel and stock cars, although its use has been sporadic over recent decades due to issues with promoters and sanctioning bodies.

How much do IndyCar tickets at the Milwaukee Mile cost?

Race day reserved tickets range from $50 to $133, and a small number of general admission grandstand seats are available for $50.

Admission for practice and qualifying Saturday ranges from $28-78.

Prices do not include service fees. Tickets are available at the gate.

Weekend camping packages, which include a site, infield parking and four weekend passes, go for $437.

Can fans watch IndyCar from the Milwaukee Mile infield?

No infield-specific general admission is being sold, but fans with grandstand reserved or GA tickets also are permitted to watch from the infield.

Limited infield parking is available for $25 Saturday, $35 Sunday or $47 for the weekend.

Do children get into the Milwaukee Mile for free?

A ticket for fans younger than 12 is free at the gate with the purchase of an adult grandstand general admission ticket. In reserved sections, children 3 and older need a ticket; those younger may sit on a ticketholder’s lap.

Can fans get into the IndyCar paddock area at the Milwaukee Mile?

Garage passes are available for $28 Saturday, $45 Sunday or $56 for the weekend. Those are add-ons. Admission is not included.

How much does parking cost on IndyCar weekend at the Milwaukee Mile?

Parking on the grounds is $15 Saturday, $20 Sunday or $27 for the weekend.

Only credit cards are accepted for onsite purchases.

What is the schedule for IndyCar weekend Aug. 23-24 at the Mile?

Practice sessions are set to begin at 10 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. Saturday. Qualifying is at 1:05 p.m. Saturday. The Snap-On Milwaukee Mile 250 is scheduled for a 1:20 p.m. green flag Sunday following a 1 p.m. broadcast start.

Indy NXT, the only support series, is on track for practice at 8:05 a.m. Saturday and qualifying at 2:35 p.m. Saturday with a race at 10:35 a.m. Sunday.

An Indy NXT autograph session is set for 5:45 p.m. Saturday and IndyCar for 9 a.m. Sunday, both in the free fan zone. A fan forum is set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Blue Moon Tavern at the Park, also in the free fan zone.

What TV channel is the IndyCar Snap-On Milwaukee Mile 250 on?

IndyCar races air on Fox (Channel 6 in Milwaukee), with Snap-On Milwaukee Mile 250 coverage beginning at 1 p.m. local time.

Are IndyCar practice and qualifying from the Milwaukee Mile on TV?

Practices at 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Saturday are to be covered on FS2 and qualifying at 1 p.m. on FS1.

Is there other entertainment scheduled for the State Fair Park grounds on IndyCar race weekend?
