I-41 cleared in Racine County after six-vehicle crash closes highway

A six-vehicle crash closed a stretch of Interstate 41/94 in Racine County for several hours early Sunday morning, with injuries reported but no fatalities.

The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook that first responders assisted “multiple injured individuals.”

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel has reached out the Racine County Sheriff’s Office, the lead agency on the incident, for additional information on the number of people injured, the severity of the injuries and what caused the crash.

Traffic alerts issued by the state Department of Transportation indicated the crash happened about 4:08 a.m. June 7. A DOT update said the scene was cleared just before 9 a.m.

Traffic was diverted for five hours, causing delays. The crash blocked all northbound lanes of traffic between State Highways 195 and 11.

The crash happened near the on ramp from Highway 195 westbound, according to the DOT.
