Here are 9 pools, beach areas and other water spots to cool off in the Fond du Lac area this summer

FOND DU LAC – Nothing says summer quite like a family trip to the beach or local pool.

Wisconsin summers are known for the stretches of hot weather, but the Fond du Lac area has access to several pools, lakes and other swimming holes to cool off in.

Here’s where to go this summer to beat the heat.

Taylor Park Pool

Taylor Park Pool, 380 Emma St., opens June 7 with daily open swim and adult lap swimming, plus an evening open swim on Fridays through July.

The daily fee for afternoon open swim is $4.50 for adults ages 18-54 and $3.50 for youth and seniors. Children ages 2 and younger are admitted free. Season passes are also available, priced by individual or families.

Fond du Lac County Fairgrounds Pool

The Fond du Lac County Fairgrounds Family Aquatic Center, 439 Martin Ave., opens June 9. Afternoon swimming is open daily from noon to 4:30 p.m., and evening swimming is open from 5 to 7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and Saturdays.

The park includes zero-depth entry, slides, water play features for all ages, picnic areas and a concession stand.

The daily fee for adults ages 18 to 54 is $5.50 for the afternoon session and $4.50 for the evening session. Youth and seniors get a $1 discount, and children ages 2 and younger are admitted free. Season passes are priced by individual or families.

Lakeside Park Splash Pad

The Splash Pad at Lakeside Park opened on Memorial Day and will stay open through September, though its operation depends on the weather.

It’s open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., or until dusk.

Fondy Aqua Park

The Fondy Aqua Park is now open until Labor Day at N5820 County D.

The fresh-water pond and sandy beach at the water park features an inflatable water park, three 90-feet-high slides and dueling zip lines, all included with the $45 open water pass. The pass, available for guests ages 6 and older, also includes access to the beach, shallow water zone, picnic area, and equipment rentals like the stand-up paddle boards and kayaks.

The $10 beach pass provides access to the beach, shallow water zone and picnic area.

North Fond du Lac Pool

The North Fond du Lac Pool, 125 McKinley St., is open daily with open swim from 1 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m., as well as adult lap swim from noon to 1 p.m. and 4 to 5 p.m.

Adults ages 18-54 are $4, while youth and seniors are $2, and children younger than age 2 are free. Individual season passes are priced by age and residential status, and family season passes are priced by size and residential status.

Waupun Family Aquatic Center

The Waupun Family Aquatic Center in Fond du Lac County Park, 701 County Park Road, will open June 7, featuring water slides, fountains, water basketball hoops, concession stand and more.

Open swim will be 1 to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and noon to 7 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, with an all-pool break from 3:30 to 3:45 daily.

Daily passes are $6.50, although children ages 3 and younger get in free and seniors ages 60 and older get in for $2. Season passes are available at the park on an individual or family basis, priced differently based on residential status.

Roosevelt Park

Roosevelt Park, N7320 Winnebago Drive, offers unsupervised swimming in Lake Winnebago. The park itself along the shore includes a windsurfing launch, picnic tables, grills and restrooms.

Wolf Lake County Park

Wolf Lake County Park, N8898 County G in St. Cloud, has a designated swimming area on a sand beach, as well as a boat launch, a picnic shelter, playground equipment and a bathroom building with changing rooms.

Kettle Moraine State Forest

Swimming at Kettle Moraine State Forest’s Northern Unit is available at two beaches on Long Lake and one beach at Mauthe Lake. Swimming areas are marked by buoys, and lifeguards are not provided.

The beaches have nearby picnic tables, grills and restrooms, and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources asks that visitors follow the carry-in, carry-out policy.

Like other state parks, a vehicle admission pass is required to enter the recreation areas. They can be purchased online at the DNR website or at the entry to the recreation areas.
