A gift shop is closing its doors in downtown Green Bay.
LoCo WisCo, 112 N. Washington St., is closing, according to a Facebook post by the owners, Dena and Michael Mooney. The announcement does not provide an exact date for the closing, but the owners said that starting Sept. 11, there will be a discount on merchandise.
“Our lease expires the end of October and will take the month to get the space ready for the next tenant,” the post said.
LoCo WisCo opened in May 2022 as a gift and souvenir store offering products from over 200 Wisconsin vendors. Owners said the store served as a space to celebrate the Green Bay community and the state.
“It was supposed to be a fun, welcoming, authentic place that showcases our home and the people that make it special,” the Mooneys said in the post.
The Mooneys cited a lack of time from holding outside jobs to support the store and its mission, along with a “crappy economy,” as reasons for its closure.
“We are beyond grateful to all of you and the 4 years we had together,” the Mooneys said.
