Residents of Menasha, Appleton, the Village of Harrison and the Village of Fox Crossing east of the Fox River who get water from Fox Crossing Utilities no longer have to boil their water starting Aug. 1, according to the City of Menasha Police Department.
This means there are no longer any boil water advisories in Winnebago, Outagamie or Calumet counties.
The advisory, which had been in place due to low water pressure from severe tornado damage July 27, was lifted with the approval of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources on Aug. 1.
Authorities recommend discarding ice and any beverages prepared during the advisory, cleaning pet water bowls with soap and water before refilling them and running cold tap water for 2-4 minutes if it is cloudy or discolored.
