Charlotte, North Carolina-based Bank of America Corp. plans to operate five area locations, which it calls “financial centers.”

Bank of America is staging a Nov. 12 groundbreaking ceremony for its first Milwaukee-area financial center, at 7630 W. Good Hope Road.

“By integrating our high tech and high touch approach, the financial center will help meet our clients where they are,” said Drew Slocum, president, Bank of America Wisconsin.

“Whether they want to have an in-person conversation about their retail banking, lending and small business needs, and financial guidance from Merrill, or use digital banking capabilities, we will be able to serve Milwaukee clients when, where and how they choose to manage their financial lives,” Slocum said, in a statement.

The Good Hope Road location, along with Bank of America centers at 5240 S. 76th St., Greendale, and 8701 S. Howell Ave., Oak Creek, are to open in the third quarter of 2026, said Diane Wagner, senior vice president-regional media relations.

The Whitefish Bay Plan Commission in 2024 approved plans for a development, including a Bank of America location, at 131 W. Silver Spring Drive.

Also, Bank of America in October received Milwaukee Board of Zoning Appeals approval to build another Milwaukee branch, at 5040 W. Fond du Lac Ave., according to city records.

Construction activity at those sites hasn’t yet proceeded, and Wagner had no additional information on those projects.

Bank of America says its expansion to Wisconsin is part of growth plans that will place it in more than 200 markets across 39 states by 2026.

Despite the rise of digital banking, Bank of America says many of its clients visit brick and mortar locations to discuss more complex financial needs.
