NEENAH – Kingston Allen rushed for 464 yards and seven touchdowns, but it was Joey Massey’s 25-yard touchdown reception in overtime that proved to be the deciding score in the Tritons’ wild victory over the Rockets.
Ashton Van Beek had 26 carries for 265 yards on the ground and rushed for five touchdowns for Neenah. He also threw a pair of touchdown passes for the Rockets, who scored 28 consecutive points over the third and fourth quarters.
The Tritons (1-0) battled back from a 50-36 deficit to force overtime. Massey sacked Van Beek on a third-and-5 during Neenah’s first possession in overtime that forced a Rockets field goal.
Notre Dame answered with its touchdown on the first play of overtime. A direct snap went to Allen, who pitched the ball to quarterback Jackson Bouthilet, who heaved the game-winning score to Massey.

APPLETON – The Bluejays saw a 21-point second-half lead disappear and may have suffered an even worse loss when quarterback Paul Schmolinske was hurt on a two-point conversion run with 57 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter.
After the Bluejays had scored on a 17-yard Schmolinske to Shamir Senyange touchdown pass to cut the deficit to one, Menasha set up for a potential go-ahead two-point conversion. Schmolinske took the snap, rolled to his right and appeared to have daylight to the goal line but was tripped up by the Panthers’ Jaxon Goelzer. Schmolinske fell awkwardly and hit just short of the goal line, suffering what appeared to be a lower leg injury. After a long delay, he left the field on a stretcher.
Menasha attempted an onside kick but Plymouth recovered and was able to run out the clock.
Menasha had appeared to be in control early, as Schmolinske connected with Senyange for a pair of scores for a 14-0 lead. The Bluejays led 28-14 at intermission after a 25-yard touchdown run by Keonte Thigpen and a 54-yard scoring run by Logan Bivens.
Bivens opened the second half with an 80-yard TD run to give Menasha a 35-14 edge.
But the Panthers fought their way back behind quarterback Augie Eigenberger, who finished with three touchdown passes. A Cole Kuhn 1-yard run with 5:18 remaining gave Plymouth its first lead of the game at 42-35.
The Bluejays, however, answered in the final minute behind Schmolinske.

APPLETON – Charlie Blevins scored four touchdowns to help the Terrors get past visiting Green Bay East.
Blevins scored on an 88-yard kick return, had touchdown runs of 48 and 3 yards and also caught a 13-yard touchdown pass from Connor Navis.
Navis also had a 24-yard touchdown run and an 82-yard touchdown toss on a fake punt for West.
Kaukauna 41, West Allis Hale 7
WEST ALLIS – Ghosts quarterback Ryan Carrel scored three rushing touchdowns, while backfield mate Muhammad Jobe scored twice to lead Kaukauna to the nonconference season-opening win.
Kaukauna senior Laythan Hurst kicked off the season with a bang by taking the game’s opening kickoff back 90 yards to give the visitors a lightning-fast 7-0 advantage.
Freedom 40, Lake Mills 0
FREEDOM – Axzil Eggert rushed for 163 yards and three touchdowns and Owen Henkel completed 16-of-25 passes for 195 yards and two touchdowns in the Irish’s nonconference season-opening win over the L-Cats.
Henkel put Freedom up 7-0 in the first period with a 7-yard touchdown pass to Aiden Aerts with Eggert adding a pair of touchdowns on runs of 49 and 33 yards in the second period.
Tyler Wollin led Lake Mills with 68 yards rushing and 80 yards passing.

CLINTONVILLE – Ayden Nerdahl carried eight times for 121 yards and four touchdowns as the Falcons rolled past the Truckers.
Amherst grabbed a 21-0 lead after one quarter before upping that margin to 42-0 at halftime and 56-0 after three.
Quarterback Tyler Loken completed 6 of 7 passes for 148 yards and two touchdowns.
Parker Soldner led Clintonville, passing for 66 yards and rushing for 37 more.
