The Texas A&M Aggies will open up the SEC Tournament against the South Carolina Gamecocks in the Quarterfinal round after receiving a double bye to start tournament week.
Under year three of Trisha Ford A&M is having one of its best seasons in almost a decade. They finish second in the SEC, narrowly missing out on the regular season title, and are the overall No. 1-ranked team across most polls. After going through a few struggles offensively late in the season, they exploded in their final game, beating the then No. 2-ranked Tennessee Lady Vols 13-2, winning the series.
These teams have met 50 times, with Texas A&M holding a 31-19 series lead. Over the last five games, Texas A&M has outscored the Gamecocks 10-5 with a 4-1 record. This will be another opportunity against a quality opponent to get some work for the younger players on the team before the NCAA Tournaments. The winner will face either Texas or Ole Miss
