Election Day for the Texas 2026 March Republican and Democratic primaries is here, meaning it’s time to cast your vote and let your voice be heard.
Unlike the last election in November 2025, this season it’s all about federal, state and county candidates who want to be in the November 2026 General Elections — also known as the midterms.
From a U.S. Senate seat for Texas to the governorship to the Lubbock County judge, there are numerous primary races to cast your ballot for before the final choice is made later this year.
With polls set to open soon, here is what you need to know about voting in Lubbock County on Election Day.
When do polls open and close?
Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.
Where do I vote in Lubbock County on Election Day?
Voting in Lubbock County is voting center-based rather than precinct-based, meaning individuals can vote at any of the 35 polling stations on Election Day within the City of Lubbock and in the county.

Yes. For those who need American Sign Language interpreters, visit the Calvary Baptist Church or the YWCA voting centers.
What do I need to bring with me to the polling booth?
The State of Texas has seven approved forms of identification that you can bring to the polls to vote. Those include:

Can I bring my cellphone inside the voting booth in Texas?
No. State law prohibits the use of wireless communications devices within a room in which voting is taking place.
