The Texas Tech Red Raiders opened fall camp this week as they prepare for the 2026 season, and on Saturday they provided a glimpse behind the scenes. They posted highlights from several of the first days of practice as several wide receivers and defensive backs made some excellent plays.
Cornerback Tarrion Grant has the first highlight in the video, intercepting a pass meant for freshman wide receiver Chase Campbell in the end zone. It was then the offence’s turn to be showcased, with wide receiver Micah Hudson catching a touchdown and senior wideout Coy Eakin hauling in a pass for a big gain.
The secondary showed what they can do, with cornerback Amier Boyd breaking up several passes. Wide receiver Bryson Jones and tight end Terrance Carter Jr. both caught touchdown passes. Quarterback Will Hammond, who is coming back from an ACL injury, showcased his mobility, making a nice throw on the run for a big gain.
It wasn’t just the skill talent that the video highlighted, they included several clips of the offensive and defensive lines going at each other.
Texas Tech has under a month to prepare before they open the season against the Abilene Christian Wildcats on Sept. 5 in Galaxy Stadium. The Red Raiders enter the season as the Big 12 favorites and are looking to make it back to the College Football Playoff.
