Lake Mary, Florida, needs one more win to reach the 2026 Little League Softball World Series championship game. They’ll have to avenge their only loss at the tournament against Clayton, North Carolina, in today’s semifinal.
After opening with a pair of wins by a combined score of 29-0, Florida was stymied in a 5-2 loss to North Carolina. Pitcher Anna-Lynn Clark continued her sterling showing at the LLSWS with 13 strikeouts in a complete game, while Chloe Cheek gave up five runs (two earned), all in the fifth inning. She and Brynn Fieser combined to shut out Washington 5-0 through an hourlong lightning delay to earn the rematch.
The loser still gets to play Sunday, Aug. 9, but the winner will follow in the title game against Owensboro, Kentucky, which won the day’s first semifinal vs. Toms River, New Jersey. Follow along live with us as Lake Mary looks to reach the championship in Greenville, North Carolina.

Sophie Catarozzoli bunts at the first pitch from Brynn Fieser. Callie Ousley gathers it calmly at third and throws her out. Kinsley Godwin pops up behind home plate, and Avery Little makes the easy catch.
Khloe Bradac swings over a 2-1 pitch that rolled to Little in the dirt, causing her to laugh and try to shake it off. The next pitch is skied foul near the first-base dugout, and first baseman Kaylee Whitlock can’t secure the catch. With another chance, Bradac lines a single past Ousley. But Abbey Robinson sends the first pitch she sees high into foul territory, and Ousley chases it down with a scoop catch.

Callie Ousley holds off on a full count and draws the second walk of the inning. Clark is already up to 22 pitches.
A lot of confusion emerges after the first pitch to Karissa Edghill. Umpires ruled Ousley left first base before the ball left the pitcher’s hand, which in Little League rules is an automatic out. The inning is suddenly over.

Whoever wins today’s game between Florida and North Carolina will take on Owensboro, Kentucky, in the LLSWS championship game. The girls from Kentucky beat Toms River, New Jersey, 2-1 in the first game of the day behind six strikeouts from ace Michaela Knight (you might know her as “Curly”) and a clutch RBI tie-breaking single in the fifth inning from Evelyn Chelstrom. New Jersey will play tonight’s loser in the consolation game Sunday morning.

Where is the Little League Softball World Series?
Since 2020, Stallings Stadium at Elm Street Park in Greenville, North Carolina, has hosted the Little League Softball World Series. The stadium sits about a mile northeast of the East Carolina University baseball and softball stadiums.
Little League Softball World Series ages
Players between 10 and 12 years old are eligible to play in the LLSWS. Unlike in baseball, which requires players to be 12 through Sept. 1, Little League Softball’s age restrictions state that players must be 12 by Jan. 1 of the current year. That means girls who are 13 can play in the Little League Softball World Series.
