Texas Tech basketball to face Kentucky in exhibition | Report

The Texas Tech basketball team is joining the wave of exhibition games that have taken over the college basketball landscape.

Matt Jones of Kentucky Sports Radio reported Friday, Aug. 14 that the Red Raiders are set to take on the Kentucky Wildcats in an exhibition game. No date has been set and an announcement is expected to come later, though the contest is reportedly set to take place in Rupp Arena.

Texas Tech has not had an exhibition game in either of the past two seasons. The last came before the 2023-24 season, Grant McCasland’s first as a head coach, when the Red Raiders took on Texas A&M in Denton in what was McCasland’s return to North Texas.

Kentucky and Texas Tech last squared off in 2020 when the Wildcats came to Lubbock.
