Texas football gaining momentum to flip three-star LB Jerrell Bridges

2027 three-star linebacker Jerrell Bridges commited to Houston on May 30. That hasn’t stopped Texas from pursuing the 6-foot-2, 185-pounder.

The Longhorns were able to get Bridges on campus for an official visit last Friday. According to Sam Spiegelman of Rivals, they’re now surging to flip him Midlothian High School star.

Three-star Midlothian (Texas) LB Jerrell Bridges hit the Forty Acres this weekend after picking up an offer from Texas earlier this month. The Longhorns took a significant step forward toward flipping the Houston commit, who grew excited about his fit after the official visit.

When looking at his performance as a junior, it isn’t too surprising why Texas is working to add Bridges to their 2027 class. He was very productive with 105 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, three sacks, two forced fumbles, and three fumbles recoveries (ran one back for a touchdown).

Bridges would be a very solid addition for the Longhorns. They’re looking for another commitment at the linebacker position to add to three-star Cade Haug who made his pledge in February.

Rivals industry rankings have Bridges as the No. 1,427 prospect in the country and the No. 134 player at the linebacker spot. He’s also listed as the No. 182 recruit in the state of Texas.
