Texas DPS IDs Levelland man killed in Terry County rollover crash

Authorities have identified a 66-year-old Levelland man who died in a single-vehicle rollover crash Saturday evening in Terry County.

Tommie Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash that was reported about 7:16 p.m. Saturday in the 1200 block of County Road 200, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Investigators believe Hernandez was driving a 2007 Chevrolet 2500 HD east on CR 200 when the vehicle entered the soft barrow ditch on the north side of the roadway. The vehicle overcorrected and went into a side skid before rolling. Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was not wearing a seatbelt.

Other factors contributing to the crash were not immediately clear as the investigation was ongoing.
