Texas A&M’s second season under head coach Bucky McMillan could be one of the more exciting campaigns based on what the Aggies have accomplished this offseason after landing three future starters/reserves from the transfer portal, led by former Kansas State star shooting guard PJ Haggerty, who averaged nearly 24 points per game during his one and only season with the Wildcats.
On Wednesday, the Aggies pulled off one of their best offseason accomplishments in program history, landing a commitment from productive NBA G-League guard Bryson Warren, while former Indiana transfer forward Mackenzie Mgbako announced his return to the program, paired with LSU transfer guard Jalen Reece announcing his intentions to play for McMillan next season.
Earlier this month, McMillan landed commitments from former Radford guard Lukas Walls and Tennessee transfer forward Cade Phillips, who fit Texas A&M’s system, while Walls previously played for McMillan at Samford and fully expects to contribute at a high level off the bench after shooting 52% from the field and 45% from three last season.
Set to host Loyola Marymount transfer forward Jalen Shelley this weekend, Texas A&M’s 2026 transfer portal class rose several spots in 247Sports’ updated rankings, sitting at No. 10 three days after the portal officially closed on Tuesday night.
