Texas A&M star infielder returns for Arlington series

Texas A&M baseball has continued to stack wins through the first two weeks of the season, improving to 8–0 despite a wave of injuries at the top of the lineup. That resilience will be tested this weekend as the Aggies travel to Arlington, Texas, for the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series—easily their most challenging slate to date.

As is often the case with multi‑team showcases, the schedule has already shifted. Texas A&M’s Friday opener has been pushed back approximately 30 minutes, with first pitch now set for 7:30 p.m. CT. The Aggies will also look a little more complete than they have in recent games, with standout junior Chris Hacopian expected to return to the lineup as the designated hitter.

His presence, paired with the continued production from Caden Sorrell, gives A&M a clearer picture of what this offense can be when closer to full strength. The Aggies have found ways to win shorthanded, leaning heavily on underclassmen and depth pieces to carry them through the early stretch. Now, with both Sorrell and Hacopian back in the mix, this weekend offers the first real glimpse of how the lineup may hold up deeper into the season once the roster is fully healthy.

With three high‑caliber opponents waiting in Arlington, Texas A&M will need contributions from every corner of the roster. The next three days should reveal just how well the Aggies’ depth, balance, and returning firepower translate against their toughest competition to date.
