Texas A&M baseball’s regular-season finale against Mississippi State has been rescheduled to Saturday, May 16th, at 11 AM CST. Unlike most college baseball series, the home showdown will begin on Thursday, May 14th, making it a full 3-day series with no doubleheader.
The Aggies were given a brutal end to the schedule, with the last four SEC series all coming against ranked teams. After defeating #21 Florida on the road, making it five straight series wins, the luck finally wore off when Auburn torched Texas A&M with an 18-5 victory in game one. Auburn would win the series 2-1, ending the Aggies’ streak.
Texas A&M faces Mississippi’s finest over the next two weekends, first traveling to The Magnolia State to play #20 Ole Miss in Oxford from May 8-10. The following weekend, the Aggies will host #11 Mississippi State to close the regular season. The SEC Tournament will begin the following week, and the road to Omaha will begin on May 29th.
The Aggies remain ranked seventh in the USA TODAY coaches poll after their recent series loss to Auburn, with the Tigers leapfrogging Texas A&M by jumping from the eighth seed to the sixth.
