The Houston Texans could be limited at one of their key positions entering Week 15’s battle against the Arizona Cardinals.
Running back Nick Chubb did not practice on Thursday because of a rib injury, but fellow runner Woody Mark (knee) returned in a limited fashion. Chubb, who’s been utilized as the No. 2 option since Week 9, left in the second quarter of Sunday’s 20-10 win over the Kansas City Chiefs and did not return.
Houston recently signed former All-SEC running back Cody Schrader to the active roster, though he could be filling the role of Dare Ogunbowale as the No. 4 option with Chubb sidelined in practice. Should Chubb not be cleared to play on Sunday, expect Ogunbowale to be the first name up behind Marks, who last week posted a career-high 26 carries for 68 yards.
Defensive back Kamari Lassiter didn’t practice due to a foot injury, but he is expected to play on Sunday against the three-win Cardinals. Lassiter missed two practices last week, but he returned on Friday and started against the Chiefs, recording two pass breakups and an interception in the fourth quarter.
As practice wraps up for the week, several names found their way back to the practice field, including linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair, defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins and offensive tackle Trent Brown. For the second straight day, both wide receiver Justin Watson and tight end Harrison Bryant returned to practice on a limited basis. Before returning, the duo must be cleared from the injured reserve.
