After recalling lettuce linked to reports of cyclosporiasis, which causes explosive diarrhea, Taylor Farms is now pulling products containing fresh jalapenos over concerns of possible salmonella contamination.
Taylor Farms said in an Aug. 9 statement that the recalled products were sold in several states, including Texas, and distributed to major retailers such as Target, Walmart and Whole Foods.
The recall is tied to fresh jalapenos supplied by Coast Citrus Distributors. A grower in Sinaloa, Mexico, that supplies Coast Citrus was identified as a potential source of the outbreak.
“Taylor Fresh Foods is no longer sourcing products from this farmer and will be filling orders from alternative suppliers,” the company said on its website.
Taylor Farms added that it is not aware of any illnesses linked to its products containing the recalled jalapenos.

Consumers who have any recalled product should discard it immediately and not consume it. Refunds are available at the location of purchase and consumers with any questions may contact Taylor Farms at 855-455-0098.
Taylor Farms on July 17 issued a voluntary recall of iceberg lettuce products as a result of the cyclosporiasis, the “explosive diarrhea” disease, outbreak and investigation, which initially connected the illnesses to lettuce from Taylor Farms de Mexico sold, in part, through Taco Bell locations in five states.
Taylor Farms is the “leading global producer of salads and healthy fresh foods,” according to its website, with facilities in the United States, Mexico, Canada and Europe.
