SEC Week 11 power rankings: Texas rises, Tennessee falls after heartbreaker

After another stacked slate of Southeastern Conference football to kick off November, a new team enters the top five and multiple programs begin their rapid descent down the list after embarrassing losses on Saturday.

Texas A&M and Alabama’s bye weeks keep them in the same spot in this week’s ranking, while the Georgia Bulldogs and Ole Miss Rebels fought their way to league wins over Florida and South Carolina, respectively. The top four remain unchanged entering Week 11, but the Gators and Gamecocks had little movement in the list.

Following the Texas Longhorns’ win over Vanderbilt in Austin, head coach Steve Sarkisian’s squad enters the top five for the first time since Week 1. The Dores’ road loss made room for quarterback John Mateer and the Oklahoma Sooners, who now have a massive victory at Tennessee on their resume. With just three games left on the schedule for the 2025 regular season, the playoff chances for Josh Heupel’s Vols are now diminished.

LSU stays put at No. 10 during its bye week, but multiple changes outside of the top 10 occurred due to Mississippi State gaining its first conference win since 2023 and Hugh Freeze’s humiliating performance against Kentucky at home.
