Power ranking SEC quarterbacks based on QBR after Week 1 of the 2025 season

The first week of SEC football has wrapped up, and there are a lot of questions that won’t be answered until conference play starts. A majority of the non-conference games played this week can be considered tune-up games, except for a handful of matchups, such as Alabama vs. FSU, LSU vs. Clemson, and the most anticipated showdown between Texas and Ohio State.

There was no more hyped player in college football than Longhorn QB Arch Manning. After being heralded as a Heisman front-runner and a generational talent, through no fault of his own, he struggled out of the gate with a 7–14 loss, where he never got comfortable.

Marcel Reed looked solid against a team that loaded the box all night, forcing Texas A&M to throw the ball more than expected, hitting a career high in passing yards. There were no terrible performances, and the league looks to be in a healthy place when it comes to talent at the quarterback position.

The QBR values the quarterback on all play types on a 0–100 scale, adjusted for the strength of opposing defenses faced. Below are the current ratings of each SEC quarterback after Week 1.
