Construction on the new Chick-fil-A location on Southwest Drive is taking shape.
The new building in the 4300 block Southwest Drive across from Walmart will help alleviate traffic congestion at the 3130 South Clack St. location.
The city of Abilene owns the land and has leased the property for the Chick-fil-A to be built on.
As of Friday, an official opening date has not been announced for the new location.
