Police arrested a man in the fatal stabbing of a woman in the 5200 block of the Interstate 37 Access Road Aug. 21, according to to an online post by the Corpus Christi Police Department.
This is the second stabbing reported by officers on Aug. 21.
At 10:42 p.m., police were dispatched to the area in reference to a stabbing and found one injured woman. She was transported to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
Detectives detained several people and interviewed them at the main police station. Investigation showed multiple people had been involved in a large fight in which the victim was stabbed.
The police department’s post said detectives identified the offender and secured a murder warrant.
Emilio Ybarra, 39, was taken into custody without incident, transported to the main police station for interviewing and booked at the City Detention Center.
The investigation is ongoing, the post said.
