One of the most anticipated games on the Texas A&M Aggies schedule is finally here this week, with Mike Elko taking his team to Baton Rouge to take on the LSU Tigers in what will be a top-20 showdown with massive ramifications in the SEC hinging on the outcome.
Coming off of a nail-biting 45-42 win over the Arkansas Razorbacks last week, the Aggies have moved up to No. 3 in the nation, and they are looking to remain one of the only unbeaten teams left standing. However, they have a couple of significant tests remaining on the schedule, starting with this road game at LSU on Saturday night in Death Valley.
Unsurprisingly, the Tigers announced on Monday that it will be a sellout crowd for the matchup, making it one of the most intense environments in all of college football: a packed night game in Death Valley.
The Tigers are looking to bounce back in a big way this week, coming off of a tough loss to the Vanderbilt Commodores over the weekend, dropping them to No. 19 in the US LBM Coaches Poll. LSU has lost two of its last three games, also falling to the Ole Miss Rebels two weeks before.
The Aggies open as a 2 1/2-point favorite on the road over the Tigers, and will be hoping that QB Marcel Reed can deliver a gem of a game, keeping his name near the top of the Heisman Trophy race.
This game is set to kick off at 7:30 p.m. EST, and be aired on ABC.
