Democratic U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico has launched his first major television ad of the General Election campaign.
Talarico announced Monday, June 22, that his campaign had purchased a seven-figure ad buy slated to go live across Texas in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Houston, San Antonio, El Paso and the Harlingen-McAllen area.
The 30-second ad, entitled “Drowning,” focuses on the struggles Texas families are facing because of the continually rising costs of basic necessities such as groceries, gas and healthcare.
The ad juxtaposes the rising cost of living with Talarico’s record of working to lower costs during his time in the Texas House of Representatives, including passing 60 bipartisan bills and capping insulin costs at $25 per month.
“In the Senate, I’ll take on corruption and keep fighting to lower your costs,” Talarico says in the ad. “I approve this message because it shouldn’t be this hard to keep your head above water.”
Talarico will face off against Attorney General Ken Paxton in the November General Election for one of Texas’ U.S. Senate seats.
