Highlights from Texas A&M's sixth preseason practice on Wednesday

Marcel Reed throwing no interceptions through six practices, a strong Daymion Sanford outing and the defensive line making noise highlighted Texas A&M’s sixth preseason practice session on Wednesday.

Reed’s consistency throughout fall camp is an excellent sign for the Aggie offense, as the unit enters its first campaign under new offensive coordinator Holmon Wiggins. The junior gunslinger is the only returning SEC quarterback to rank among the top three in passing yards, rushing yards, total yards, passing touchdowns, total touchdowns, and quarterback rating.

Meanwhile, Sanford is making massive strides toward a full recovery after suffering a gruesome leg injury in the spring, which seemed likely to put the talented linebacker out for most of the season. If today’s practice and head coach Mike Elko’s status update during last week’s press conference are any indication, Sanford could very well be back in time to participate in the season opener against Missouri State on Sept. 5.
