Question: On the offense during Training Camp

Derek Stingley Jr.: “They all have been working over there. They’re in sync right now and they’re making plays.”

Q: On WR Jayden Higgins development going into year two

Stingley: “He’s more in sync with C.J. C.J. knows more about how he’s going to play or run a route. I feel like their timing is better.”

Q: On his favorite place to be outside of football

Stingley: “At home. I have a little son, so just hanging out at home.”

Q: On how his marriage and newborn son has changed his life

Stingley: “It’s just more. It’s more, it’s life. I don’t know. It’s life.”

Q: On how he improves his game

Stingley: “I’d say for me, for every snap to just stay locked in. Just playing my game every snap. Not worrying about anything else.”

Q: On what the team needs in order to reach the Super Bowl

Stingley: “I think we just need to go out there every play and just communicate. I feel like that’s for offense, defense and special teams. It all comes down to communication. If everybody is on that and everybody does their assignment, I don’t see why not. We go day-by-day. We’ll see how it goes but just to communicate.”

Q: On CB Collin Wright

Stingley: “Yeah, Collin is a dog. At some point during practice, he’s either going to get a pick or he’s almost going to get a pick. He does it every day. He did it during the spring. He’s doing it now. He just keeps on growing.”

Q: On how Training Camp has been so far and how QB C.J. Stroud has been performing

Stingley: “I feel like it’s been alright. C.J. is being the C.J. that we all know he can be. He’s making some real plays out there. We all knew he could do it. He’s been doing this for a long time. I can’t wait for everybody else to see him go out there and just ball and be himself.”

Q: On what S Reed Blankenship has brought to the secondary

Stingley: “He just jumped right in and he’s just playing. There were no drop-offs. There were no communication problems. It wasn’t forced. He’s a ball player. He’s been doing it in a different place, but now he’s with us. He’s just out there making plays like we know he can do.”

Q: On how DE Jadeveon Clowney fits the defense

Stingley: “He’s a dog. He’s Jadeveon Clowney. It’s crazy. He’s on that defensive line and I know he’s the older presence for them on the defensive line, but he doesn’t have to change anything about himself. He can just go out there and just play.”

Q: On players like CB Jaylin Smith who were injured and get to have a healthy Training Camp

Stingley: “‘J-Roc’, he’s being that guy. When he’s off coverage, he’s breaking downhill when he’s supposed to. At the line, he’s getting his hands on and playing the ball. That’s something he’s been doing for a long time. He just got hurt. When he’s out there, he’s going to make plays. That goes for everybody else. They’re out there on the field and they just do what they normally do. I think it’s good that they’re doing that.”
