After a successful college soccer career at Division II Southern Nazarene University, El Paso’s Bella Morgas is returning close to home by earning a chance with Division 1, New Mexico State.
Morgas will have one more year of eligibility. In three years at Southern Nazarene, she was the team’s top player and scored 30 goals and had six assists in 55 games.
Morgas earned Great American Conference Offensive Player of the Year honors after recording 11 goals and 2 assists as a junior in 2025.
Southern Nazarene University is a private university in Bethany, Oklahoma, part of the Oklahoma City metro area.
The NMSU Aggies, located 40 minutes north of El Paso in Las Cruces, compete in Conference USA.
“I’m looking forward to this opportunity at New Mexico State. I wanted to take this chance and see what I can do on the Division I level,” Morgas said. “I feel like I grew as a player the past few years and I learned so much here at Southern Nazarene that helped me as a player.”
Morgas was the 2023 El Paso Times’ All-City Girls Soccer MVP. As a senior, she scored 57 and had 19 assists
For her career at Andress, Morgas scored 140 goals and had 55 assists.
“I really like the program at New Mexico State and I’m ready for the next challenge,” Morgas said. “I want to finish my career strong and to have a chance to be close to home is an amazing feeling.”
